Certification
We are guided by the strict standards of various independent certifiers
in the production of our natural cosmetics, and all our products are certified as natural cosmetics. In the detailed view of every product, you can see which certifier has controlled the product in question.
BDIH
www.kontrollierte-naturkosmetik.deWith a few exceptions, all BIOTURM products which were launched during the first years meet with the strict guidelines of BDIH for certified natural cosmetics.
The seal attests the use of natural raw materials such as vegetable oils, fats or waxes as well as herbal extracts or essential oils and flavours from controlled organic cultivation or wild collection. Also the ecological compatibility of the products is most important. Certified products
must be manufactured in processes that protect the environment and conserve resources.
In addition,
the individual raw materials must be easily biodegradable. The compliance with the standards is constantly checked by the association.
COSMOS
www.cosmos-standard.orgNewer products are certified by "COSMOS natural". COSMOS is an association of the BDIH and four other European certifiers for organic cosmetics from France, Great Britain, Italy and Belgium. Their objective is to develop a uniform European standard and to harmonise the rules of certification.
The COSMOS standard covers in detail all aspects of sourcing, manufacturing, marketing and control of cosmetic products. Certification bodies check each of these aspects when certifying a natural cosmetic product. The compliance with the standards is also constantly reviewed.
Nature Thanx
www.naturethanx.euNature Thanx is a new quality standard in Germany which has been especially developed for close-to-nature and therapy-related caring products (“naturtreue therapieunterstützende Pflegeprodukte”). The products have to be as close to nature as possible, their basis must be of natural origin. In addition, some nature-identical ingredients (such as e. g. urea) are tolerated up to a certain amount if such ingredients are indispensable for the therapy-related effect of these products. These ingredients (four at the moment) are also found in plant or animal organisms, but they cannot be obtained in the method defined for natural cosmetics. Nature Thanx is our certifier for all products containing urea as special ingredient.
ICEA
www.icea.bioICEA (Istituto Certificazione Etica Ambientale) is an Italian certifier with the objective to
do justice to people and the environment and protect the rights of consumers. ICEA is one of the most important bodies of this sector in Italy and Europe where it operates to favour a fair and socially sustainable development ranging from organic farming to other organic-related industries.
Our skin care products with urea are certified as natural cosmetics by ICEA, since this certifier accepts in its standards the nature-identical urea produced for cosmetic products. Due to its effect, urea contributes to the improvement of the skin condition without side effects and is therefore an important component of our therapy-accompanying products for neurodermatitis, psoriasis and dry skin.
