General information:

Neurodermatitis is an inflammatory skin disease, probably resulting from hypersensitivity of the immune system. Almost 15 % of people in western countries (industrial nations) are affected.

Neurodermatitis often begins in early childhood and usually improves during the years. It occurs in phases and has an individual appearance that depends on the person's age. Arm bends, back of the knees as well as neck and face are particularly affected.

During an acute phase, the affected areas show red, scaly, sometimes also weeping eczema in a rather progressive appearance. The skin’s content of urea is considerably reduced here.

During a phase without symptoms, the skin is extremely dry and sensitive, so it is important to give consistent care to the skin during this phase as well.

Next to an intensive skin care in all phases of neurodermatitis, affected persons should pay attention to other aspects in their life:

eat fully-fledged food avoiding acid-formers and food additives to detoxify and stabilise the immune system
use organic detergents without fabric softeners, prefer organic cleaning products to avoid sensitising substances
wear clothes made of cotton, linen or silk which are more pleasant for irritated skin than synthetics
develop strategies to avoid stress - stress can be the reason for an acute phase

Care for reddened and itchy skin. We have combined micro silver with zinc (a proven active ingredient) and have thus created the product Silver ointment no.33 which cares for and calms damaged, chappy or itchy skin. Pure vegetable oils provide the skin with high-quality lipids and moisture. Irritations are soothed, the skin calms down. The ointment is applicated locally to affected skin areas. It reduces reddening, cares for the skin and makes it smooth again. Problematic skin gets what it needs to recover and remain healthy. Due to the antibacterial effect of silver, our ointment also improves the skin appearance of teenager's skin problems (impure skin / acne). The silver we are using is micro silver which cannot penetrate into the skin because of its size; it remains on the skin until next cleaning. We are NOT using nano silver.
